Kebra Natty is a group of professional musicians based in Los Angeles. It’s a brand new group pioneering a blend of Ethio jazz, Reggae, Afro beat and East African music into a fresh new sound. The musical director, Kirubel Assefa, has been around and worked with a lot of ground breaking groups like lasta sound and well known Ethiopian artists Aster Aweke, gigi, Mahmoud Ahmed, the legendary Dr Tilahun Gessese and the Nigerian superstar Majek Fashek. The plan for the group is to take Reggae and Ethio jazz to a new level making it ubiquitous. The members are assembled from various parts of the music world and picked by the musical director to bring this unique sound to the world.
